Itinerary
7:30 AM - Departure from Playa Hermosa
Pickup from Villa Daiquiri or Villa Sun Monkey in a private, air-conditioned van.
Enjoy a scenic 2 hour drive to Tenorio Volcano National Park, passing villages and lush landscapes with commentary from your bilingual driver.
10:00 AM - Hike in Tenorio Volcano National Park
Embark on a 5-mile (7-km) moderate hike through the rainforest, exploring:
Rio Celeste Waterfall: Descend ~250 steps to see the iconic turquoise cascade.
Los Teñideros: Witness the mineral reaction creating the river’s blue hue.
Blue Lagoon and Volcanic Vents: Observe geothermal activity and serene pools.
Wildlife: Spot monkeys, birds, sloths, and frogs with your guide’s expertise.
Duration: 2-2.5 hours. Note: Swimming is not permitted in the park.
1:00 PM - Lunch at Blue River Brewery
Enjoy a traditional Costa Rican “Casado” (rice, beans, plantains, salad, and chicken, beef, or fish) with a non-alcoholic beverage.
Optional craft beers available for purchase in a relaxed, open-air setting.
2:30 PM - Sloth Sanctuary
Visit this organic farm and rescue center to see sloths and other wildlife up close.
Learn about conservation efforts and explore tropical plants, frogs, and birds.
4:00 PM - Return to Playa Hermosa
Depart for the 2 hour drive back, arriving at Villa Daiquiri or Villa Sun Monkey around 4:30–5:00 PM.
